Silva is one of the best young defenders in Europe and has been on the books of Benfica since 2016. He has come through the youth system and is now part of the first team. The 20-year-old Portugal international centre-back has scored two goals in 21 Portuguese league appearances this season.
Chelsea are 11th in the Premier League table at the moment with 35 points from 25 matches, as many as 17 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.
