They stink! The Cleveland Cavaliers have lost seven of 10; the worst of those came last night, when they lost by 34 freaking points to a Toronto Raptors team missing two (Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka) of its three best players. The third, DeMar DeRozan, didn’t even have a good game; he scored 13 points. That was all the Raptors needed on a night when the Cavs made peppy li’l tyke Fred VanVleet look like Tiny Archibald. Garbage time began in the second quarter. Look at him go! And look at the dead-eyed Cavs standing around flat-footed like a bunch of jamokes. The Cavs can’t defend anybody; they can’t shoot; half the roster looks washed up. Last night they got smushed all over the court by a tragic keyboard incident called “Jakob Poeltl.” They’re puke. Aim them at the toilet. I was wrong when I wrote pretty much the exact same thing about them in the middle of a four-game losing streak in October (a few nights later LeBron James nuked the Wizards to the tune of 57 points) but this time I am actually correct. Also they don’t play the Wizards again for like six more weeks. Medical clearance or no, Isaiah Thomas pretty clearly is “back” only in the most literal sense of the term; the wreck of the frickin’ Lusitania watched him post a 2-for-15 shooting line and go a ghastly minus-20 in 25 minutes last night and was like “Rust, much?” He’s banging flat-trajectory jumpshots off the front of the rim, can’t beat anybody off the dribble, and can’t finish in traffic. Combine it with his, uhhhhhh, spotty defense and he’s doing at least as much harm as good. Meanwhile, LeBron is still a model of efficiency at the offensive end—of course—but the only defending he has done in the past couple weeks has come in his answers to “Why does your team suck so bad?” questions in postgame press scrums. Hey LeBron, where are the frickin’ stops, buddy? Maybe you left them wherever you left your hoodie’s sleeves. Burn. J.R. Smith has forgotten how to shoot; Kevin Love has forgotten however much he may once have known about how to move his feet. Jae Crowder was never actually good at any particular basketball thing but he’s worse at all of them now. They actually need Jeff Green. They’re crud! It’s definitely forever.

Liverpool end Thuram interest, Lavia talks to begin
Still working to complete their midfield reconstruction, Liverpool have reportedly decided to end their interest in signing OGC Nice s Khephren Thuram. It appears that their acquisition of Dominik Szoboszlai a few days ago played its part in that.
The Merseysiders, however, are said to be set to begin talks with Southampton over the possibility of signing Romeo Lavia, who is a target for Arsenal as well. This summer is probably the last chance Southampton will have to get more than £40 million for the services of the 19-year-old midfield pivot, given the buyback clause Manchester City forced on them when he left the Premier League champions in 2022, which is set at that amount and is valid from the summer o…
Dani Carvajal has sustained a ligament injury in his right knee, Real Madrid have confirmed.
The Spain international has featured in each of the champions first three LaLiga matches this season.
Carvajal played the full 90 minutes in a draw at Real Sociedad and a win at Real Betis, before helping turn the home clash with Real Valladolid in Madrid s favour as a second-half substitute.
But the 28-year-old is now facing a spell on the sidelines and, although his club have not announced a timescale for his ailment, reports suggest he could be out for two months.
Following tests carried out on Dani Carvajal by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to his medial collateral ligament in his right knee, a statement read.

Ben Chilwell produced a star turn on his Premier League debut for Chelsea as Frank Lampard s side beat Crystal Palace 4-0 on Saturday.
Chilwell marked his 100th appearance in the competition with his fifth goal to break the deadlock early in the second half and crossed for Kurt Zouma to double the lead 66 minutes in.
Palace have already beaten Southampton and Manchester United this season, but a run of five consecutive defeats to Chelsea and just two wins in 11 attempts at Stamford Bridge in the top flight was hardly encouraging pre-game reading.
Indeed, Edouard Mendy making his first league start for the Blues was largely untested in goal as the home side eased to a third win in six games in all competitions this season through a Jorginho penalty double.
Adam Wilson’s late equaliser extended Kevin McDonald’s unbeaten run as Bradford caretaker manager to four games as they snatched a 1-1 draw with Wrexham.
The substitute scored via the underside of the crossbar after 85 minutes to cancel out Paul Mullin’s header.
Former Bradford manager Phil Parkinson returned to the club for only the second time since leaving in May 2016, and his Wrexham side had a good shout for a penalty rejected when Steven Fletcher went down under a challenge from Sam Stubbs.
Mullin then had the best chance of the first half, putting a diving header wide from Ryan Barnett’s cross.
Andy Cook and Emmanuel Osadebe shot straight at visiting goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo as Bradford finally rallied before Fletcher, making his first Wre…
Arsenal are interested in signing James Maddison from Leicester City, according to .
Maddison is a product of the youth setup at Coventry, having gone through the ranks there and earned first-team promotion in 2014. He joined Norwich City in January 2016 but returned to Coventry on loan for the rest of that season, and he spent the first half of the following one on loan with Aberdeen. His stock grew in pace with his fine performances for the Canaries, and he quickly became a player in much demand. In 2018, he joined Leicester for a reported fee of just over £20 million.
Arsenal are searching for an attacking midfielder following Martin Odegaard s return to Real Madrid at the end of 2020-21, but they are still keeping an eye on the Norwegian amid reports that he still …
Liverpool on track for worst defence ever as Grealish follows in foul footsteps – the Premier League
Another spectacular weekend in the Premier League always looked likely after Liverpool s thriller at Everton, and we weren t disappointed.
The champions lost Virgil van Dijk to injury and a winning goal to a Sadio Mane offside so marginal it seems VAR has now started dealing with measurements on the Planck scale.
Gareth Bale s return to action for Tottenham was warmly welcomed (mostly by jubilant West Ham fans) as a Jose Mourinho team once more produced a goal-fest, a sure sign that 2020 is truly losing its marbles.
Thankfully, we were also given a healthy dose of normality. Arsenal lost to Manchester City for the seventh time in a row, Jack Grealish was fouled so much you have to wonder if his tiny shin pads are shouting insults at every opponent, and Crystal Pa…
Chelsea are interested in signing Antonio Silva from Benfica in the summer transfer window, according to . The report has claimed that Chelsea will send scouts to watch Silva in action for Benfica against Sporting Lisbon in the semi-finals of the Taca de Portugal this week.
Silva is one of the best young defenders in Europe and has been on the books of Benfica since 2016. He has come through the youth system and is now part of the first team. The 20-year-old Portugal international centre-back has scored two goals in 21 Portuguese league appearances this season.
Chelsea are 11th in the Premier League table at the moment with 35 points from 25 matches, as many as 17 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa. Meanwhile, Benfica currently find themselves at the top of the Bun…
Everton owner Farhad Moshiri has urged Toffees fans to “bear with us” as the protracted sale of the club enters “the home straight”.
The Toffees’ Fan Advisory Board (FAB) wrote to Moshiri, prospective owners 777 Partners and the Premier League this week seeking answers, with the takeover appearing to have stalled since it was first agreed last September.
Fans also asked for clarification on what would happen if the deal does not proceed, but Moshiri and 777 have replied to assure them the takeover will go ahead and that the delay was down to the Premier League’s “approval process”.

Premier League clubs have voted in favour of the competition potentially creating a spending cap, according to widespread reports.
The Premier League will now work on the studies and legal analysis required to possibly introduce a cap model from the start of the 2025-26 season onwards.
This would replace the current Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), under which Everton and Nottingham Forest have both been deducted points this season, while Leicester City have been charged with a breach.
At a meeting on Monday, 16 clubs voted in favour of the Premier League performing the required analysis. The model will then be presented to club s at the annual general meeting in June, for another vote.
According to reports, Manchester United, Manchester City and As…
Josh Sheehan is determined to revive his Wales career after injury destroyed his World Cup dream and provoked the “dark days” that followed.
Bolton midfielder Sheehan won his fourth Wales cap – and his first for two years – by coming on as a second-half substitute in the 0-0 friendly draw with South Korea on Thursday.
It was reward for a tough journey that began on November 17, 2021 – a date inked in Sheehan’s mind.
“An FA Cup game against Stockport, I was running down the line against their full-back and he just gave me a little nudge,” said the 28-year-old from Carmarthenshire.
“I felt something in my leg, and it just went. I went down for a second and then I carried on for five minutes, but every time I felt like turning it would give…
